When should I see a neurosurgeon rather than a neurologist?

See a neurosurgeon when a scan shows something that may need an operation: a herniated disc with weakness, spinal canal narrowing, a brain tumour, bleeding after a head injury or hydrocephalus. If you are unsure, book either and our team will route you to the right specialist.

Does every slip disc need surgery?

No. Most settle in 6 to 12 weeks with medicines and physiotherapy. Surgery is advised when leg pain persists, weakness progresses, or urgently when bladder or bowel control is affected.

Is there a neurosurgeon on call at night?

Yes. The emergency department on OMR has CT and MRI round the clock and a neurosurgeon on call 24×7. For a head injury, sudden severe headache or weakness, come straight in.

Is Iswarya Hospital empanelled for senior-citizen schemes for Pallikaranai residents?

Yes. Iswarya is empanelled for CGHS, ECHS, Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), and ESI — covering most senior-citizen healthcare needs from Pallikaranai.

Does Iswarya have an outreach OPD in Pallikaranai?

Iswarya periodically organises free health camps and OPD outreach in Pallikaranai. Follow our events page or call 044 2025 2025 for upcoming dates.
