8-10 minA trained phlebotomist draws approximately 350-450 ml of blood using a sterile, single-use kit.

Testing
Every unit is screened for HIV, Hepatitis B & C, Malaria, and Syphilis to ensure safety.
Component Separation
Blood is separated into Red Blood Cells, Platelets, Plasma, and Cryoprecipitate — each saving a different life.
Storage
Components are stored at precise temperatures: RBCs at 2-6°C for up to 42 days, platelets at 20-24°C for 5 days.
Transfusion
Components are cross-matched and transfused to patients in surgery, trauma, cancer treatment, and emergencies.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often can I donate blood?▼
Healthy adults can donate whole blood every 3 months (90 days). Platelet donation can be done every 2 weeks.
Is blood donation safe?▼
Absolutely. We use sterile, single-use collection kits for every donor. There is zero risk of infection from donating blood.
Will it hurt?▼
You may feel a brief pinch when the needle is inserted, similar to a routine blood test. Most donors describe the process as painless.
Can I donate if I have diabetes or high blood pressure?▼
If your diabetes and BP are well-controlled with medication and you are otherwise healthy, you may be eligible. Our medical team will assess you before donation.
What should I eat before donating blood?▼
Have a healthy meal and drink plenty of water 2-3 hours before donation. Avoid fatty foods and alcohol for 24 hours before donating.
How soon can I exercise after donating?▼
Avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for 24 hours after donation. Light activities like walking are fine immediately after.
