Is painless delivery safe?

Painless delivery usually means epidural pain relief given by an anaesthetist during labour. It is widely used and safe for most women, but it is not suitable for everyone—for example, with some bleeding disorders or spine conditions. Your obstetrician and anaesthetist will assess you and discuss the benefits and possible side-effects before labour.

Is NICU support available?

Yes, NICU support is available within the hospital for newborns who need extra care—such as babies born early, with low birth weight, or with breathing or feeding difficulties. If your pregnancy is high-risk, the team will discuss your baby’s likely care needs before delivery.

When should I start antenatal visits?

Start antenatal visits as soon as you know you are pregnant. Visits are usually monthly until 28 weeks, every two weeks until 36 weeks and weekly after that. Your obstetrician may advise more frequent visits if your pregnancy needs closer monitoring.
