About Neonatal ICU (NICU)
Medically reviewed by Dr. Ravi, Consultant Neonatologist & Pediatrician · Updated 9 October 2026
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Iswarya Hospital cares for newborns who are born early, are very small, or are unwell at birth. Neonatologists and specially trained nurses are present around the clock, and the unit sits next to our labour ward so a baby who needs help receives it within minutes of birth.
The unit is equipped with incubators, ventilators, phototherapy and continuous monitoring, and parents are involved in their baby's care from the first day, including kangaroo mother care and breastfeeding support.
