Medically reviewed by Dr. M A Vijay Prakash, Emergency Physician · Updated 9 October 2026

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Iswarya Hospital treats critically ill patients whose condition does not need surgery but does need continuous monitoring and organ support. Intensivists are on the floor 24×7, supported by a one-to-one nursing ratio for the sickest patients.

The unit provides mechanical ventilation, dialysis, advanced cardiac monitoring and infection control, and works closely with our neurology, cardiology, nephrology and gastroenterology teams so specialists are at the bedside when they are needed.
